Great success for our club at the ITF Ireland Cup

The IFSC was very happy to RSVP to the ITF Ireland Cup competition, and everyone was eager to step onto the mats one last time this month.

Our Black belts showed off their mastery over a few rounds of patterns, ending up with a Silver medal for John & a Bronze medal for Michael in III-VI Degree patterns! Congratulations to Mr. McSherry for his well deserved gold. It was a sharp performance by John across three rounds, and well done to Michael who also performed nicely.

The ladies also brought home some medals for their patterns: Bronze for Shirley & Soukeina in patterns, and a Silver for Cathy!

When it came to sparring, everyone gave it their best shot - with great results!

John won Gold in Heavy weight sparring, and Michael clinched the Bronze in Light weight sparring at ITF Ireland Cup. Well done!

Shirley fought a Black belt, and gave us a great performance. Silver medal for great punches & kicks and probably the best Shirley sparring to date!

Cathy and Soukeina ended up sparring each other, in an intense, high tempo final that went to a second round. Cathy utilized her experience and clinched the gold in extra time!

And last but not least, Gold for John in power after getting 5 out of 5 breaks! His all-around great performance today earned him a well-deserved Overall Senior award!!
