Closing off the Competition season with the RITA Irish Open

After our great results at the European cups, the club decided to finish the year with yet another great competition, in Ireland this time.

A round of applause for everyone at the competition, who helped to make it a very enjoyable day and a high quality event at a nice venue in the DCU Sport Complex.

Congratulations to our medal winners, junior & senior!

John won Silver for John in III-IV Degree patterns, with a nice sharp performance throughout rounds. He topped it up with a Gold imedal in heavy-weight black belt sparring at RITA Irish Open, thanks to an assured performance against tough international opponents.

Cathy's crisp patterns earned her a Bronze medal in in red belt patterns, and a beautiful Gold medal in sparring after a very clean and skilled performance.

A special mention to Shirley who performed admirably in patterns and only lost to the eventual winner on a narrow 3-2 decision - with a broken hand!

Deirdre got to keep her unbeaten record in sparring with a very decisive win that earned her a Gold medal, as a nice addition to her Bronze medal in patterns.

As for our junior members, Quisha, her excellent and confident performance earner her a Bronze medal in yellow tag patterns!
